1.3Workshops and wilds

September 28, 2026

New

  • The Quarry, Lumber Camp and Forager's Hut: put a spare pickaxe, hatchet or sickle inside and they slowly gather nearby rocks, trees or plants that tool can harvest. Collect what they store from their window. The tool is mounted on the building and a pennant shows its tier.
  • Three tool slots, Mining, Woodcutting and Foraging. Every swing uses the right tool for what you hit.
  • Hatchets and sickles for every tier, from Wooden to Obsidian, and two new plants: the Emberbloom in Volcanic lands and the Void Lotus in the Void. Every tool tier now unlocks something new to harvest.
  • Weapons, tools and armor show their key stats next to what you have equipped, in crafting stations, the backpack and the merchant.
  • Quests run in four tracks at once: Combat, Explore, Crafting and Settlement.
  • Materials you have not found yet show as ?? everywhere, and hovering one tells you where to look.

Changed

  • Bows, crossbows and slings no longer need ammo, so arrows are gone.
  • Monsters also gather on your farther lands and wait there, noticing you when you come close. Your first few lands stay calmer.
  • If a Blood Moon champion defeats you, it leaves and the rest of the night is an ordinary one.
  • Days are now 7.5 minutes of daylight and 2.5 minutes of night.
  • A small welcome chest waits near your starting spot. Chests on your lands appear more often but hold a little less, and the chest quest now asks for three.
  • Coal, iron and gold veins each have their own look, so you can tell them apart at a glance.
  • Some trees and plants need a better tool than before.
  • Your pickup range grows as you spend skill points.

Fixed

  • Land prices no longer give away the names of materials you have not found.
  • Windows stay inside the screen at any interface size.
  • Leaving fullscreen on play.kalkuz.dev opens the pause menu.

Retired

  • The Helper Hut. Existing huts are boarded up: press E on one to remove it and get all its materials back.
1.2Deeper lands

September 27, 2026

New

  • New lands cost materials from biomes you already own, on top of coins. Coral from the Coast opens the Desert, frost shards from the Tundra open the Graveyard, and ember cores and obsidian open the Void. The map, the buy prompt and the Journal show what you have and what you still need.
  • The deepest lands wait behind bosses. Beat a Blood Moon champion to open the Graveyard, Mushroom Grove and Crystal Fields, fell the Ancient Treant or the Dune Wyrm for Volcanic lands, and slay the Crypt Warden for the Void.
  • Every land is bigger: 16×16 instead of 12×12. Your island keeps its layout and grows a fresh outer ring.

Improved

  • Biomes blend into each other at their borders instead of meeting at a straight line.
  • Plants sway naturally in the wind, and berries stay on their bushes.
  • The dodge roll is a proper tumble and no longer dips into the ground.
  • Settings, How to play and What's new open in their own windows. The pause menu is shorter, with Settings one click away.
1.1Readable combat

September 27, 2026

Combat you can read

  • Every enemy attack is marked on the ground before it lands: charge lanes, swing cones, aim lines, landing circles and rings. Attacks that can actually reach you glow brightest.
  • A "!" appears over monsters about to strike, and a red skull when the hit would take you out.
  • Wind-up sounds come from the monster's direction, with optional controller rumble and on-screen sound captions.
  • Bosses call out their big attacks.

New moves

  • Deflect arrows and bolts by swinging just as they arrive.
  • Interrupt a wind-up with a critical hit or a hammer blow.
  • Break a boss's poise to stun it and deal extra damage.
  • Lure charging monsters into walls to daze them.
  • Swap back to your previous weapon with X.

Learn and practice

  • The Journal's Combat guide explains every marker and move, and the bestiary shows which moves work on each monster.
  • Build a Sparring Ring to practise against monsters you have beaten, earn medals and try three counter drills.
  • When you fall, the death recap shows what hit you and how to avoid it next time.

Monsters and bosses

  • New monsters, including the Thornback, the Sandworm, the Skeleton Marksman and the rare Treasure Goblin.
  • Two roaming world bosses, the Ancient Treant and the Dune Wyrm, and the Crypt Warden deep in the crypts.
  • A monster that defeats you can come back as a named nemesis.

More to do

  • Trials, deeper crypts with traps, ambush rooms and timed Swift Rooms, 15 relics to collect and a longer quest chain.

Accessibility

  • Colorblind-safe and high-contrast attack colors, a reduce-flashing mode, sound captions, gamepad menu navigation and a full Turkish translation.
